PROJECT SYNOPSIS ▾
IN THIS PROJECT, WE FOCUS ON HOW TO ECONOMICALLY AND EFFICIENTLY DESIGN A NEW SPACE ON AN EXISTING SITE. INTERFACES
DEFINE OUR PERCEPTION OF SPACE, AND MAKING SPACE IS SOMEHOW EQUIVALENT TO MAKING INTERFACES. AS A TIME-LIMITED
STORE, THE INTERFACES OF THE ORIGINAL SPACE AND THE NEW SPACE BECOME THE KEY TO THE PROJECT. THIS PROJECT IS A
POP-UP STORE FOR THE CHINESE INDEPENDENT DESIGN BRAND SHUSHU/TONG.
WHILE KEEPING THE WALLS OF THE ORIGINAL SPACE, A CIRCLE OF NEW WALLS IS SEPARATED FROM THE ORIGINAL ONE, FORMING THE
NEW SPATIAL INTERFACES. THE SPACE BETWEEN TWO WALLS NATURALLY ACCOMMODATES THE FUNCTIONS NEEDED FOR THE STORE SUCH
AS PRODUCT DISPLAY, WINDOW DISPLAY, CASHIER AND DRESSING ROOM ENTRANCE. A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE TWO INTERFACES IS
ORGANIZED WITH EASE AND ELEGANCE....
LIGHT FABRIC DEFINED THE NEW SPATIAL INTERFACES. THE SPACE IS WRAPPED IN ONE SINGLE MATERIAL AND THE FABRIC IS USED
IN VARIOUS WAYS. DRAPED FABRIC BECOMES A WALL, WITH SOFT FOLDS THAT CONVEY A SENSE OF MOVEMENT. FOLDED AND WRAPPED,
THE FABRIC TRANSFORMS INTO A COUNTER OR A PIECE OF FURNITURE, AN ECONOMICAL AND EFFICIENT WAY TO GIVE THE SPACE A
NEW LOOK. JUST AS THE ANCIENT GREEKS USED CLOTH TO SHOW THE BEAUTY OF THE HUMAN BODY, THE FREEDOM OF ONE PIECE OF
CLOTH IS BROUGHT INTO FULL PLAY. DRAPING AND FLOWING FABRIC CONVEY AN ARCHITECTURAL AESTHETIC.
THE FRENCH DECORATIVE MOLDINGS ON THE WALLS OF THE ORIGINAL SPACE ARE PRESERVED. ROSE STICKERS ARE USED TO DECORATE
THE CEILING AND WALLS, GENTLY UTILIZING THE ORIGINAL INTERFACES TO SPREAD THE BRAND’S ROMANTIC QUALITIES. THE ROSES
IN THE SKY, TOGETHER WITH THE ROSE-CARVED CARPET OF THE BRAND’S FIRST STORE, FORM A REVERSE INTERTEXT, INHERITING
THE DRAMATIC ATMOSPHERE OF THE “ROSE LIVING ROOM”.
如何经济且有效地在原有场地进行设计使空间焕然一新,是该项目思考的问题。界面定义了我们对空间的感知,制造空间某种程度上等同于制造界面。作为一个限时店铺,原有空间与新空间的界面关系成为项目的关键。项目为国内独立设计品牌SHUSHU/TONG的POP-UP限时店铺。
在保留原有空间墙体的同时,我们复制一圈新的墙体,分离出新的空间界面。两个墙体之间具有厚度的空间被赋予用途,自然地收纳产品陈列、橱窗、收银台以及更衣室入口等店铺所需的功能,以轻松而优雅的姿态,完成一次界面之间的对话。
新的空间界面由轻盈的布料定义。空间被单一的材料包裹,布料也被演绎出多种使用方式:悬垂的布料成为墙体,柔软的褶皱传递灵动的气息;通过折叠和包裹,布料又能变成一个柜台,一件家具,经济且快速地让空间焕然一新。如同古希腊人用服装展现人体之美,将一块布的自由发挥至淋漓尽致,面料的垂坠和飘逸能够传递建筑般的美感。
原有空间墙面的法式装饰线条得到保留,用玫瑰花贴纸装饰天花和墙面,轻轻地利用原有的空间界面铺陈品牌的浪漫特质。漫天的玫瑰花与品牌首店玫瑰元素的地毯形成一次反向的互文,延续了“玫瑰会客厅”的戏剧氛围。
