THE OAP RESIDENCE IS LOCATED OPPOSITE THE JINHUA ARCHITECTURAL PARK, AND IT TOOK ABOUT TWO YEARS FROM DESIGN TO
CONSTRUCTION. IN THIS PROJECT WE TRIED TO CREATE A DIALOGUE WITH THE SURROUNDING LANDSCAPE, REFLECTING THE
CONTEMPORARY LIVING EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE DESIGN. THE CLIENT IS A NEWLY RETIRED COUPLE, AND THE COMFORT OF
LIVING
IS THEIR ONLY APPEAL. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE DESIGNED SPACE AND LIFE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE LIVING
EXPERIENCE OF A RESIDENTIAL PROJECT. OUR EXTREME ATTENTION TO SPATIAL DETAILS IN THE PROJECT REPRESENTS OUR
CONCERN
FOR THE OCCUPANTS. THIS IS ALSO ONE OF THE STARTING POINTS FOR LAUNCHING THIS PROJECT.
SYMMETRICAL DOOR OPENINGS FORM A FLOWING, CONTINUOUSLY CHANGING MULTI-LEVEL INTERIOR SPACE. FROM THE ENTRANCE
HALL
TO THE LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM, THE OCCUPANTS CAN PERCEIVE THE CONTINUITY OF THE SPACE. EACH WINDOW HOLE IS
LIKE
A STATIC VIEWFINDER TO CAPTURE THE OUTDOOR SCENERY. SITTING INDOORS, ALL THE FRAMED SCENERY IS QUIET AND THE
WIND
BLOWING CAN ONLY BE OBSERVED THROUGH THE SHADOWS OF THE WHIRLING TREES....
EACH BEDROOM ADOPTS THE CONCEPT OF A SUITE, NO LONGER JUST A BED AND A BATHROOM, BUT AN INDEPENDENT LIVING SPACE.
THE PURE TREATMENT OF DETAILS AND MATERIALS STRENGTHENS THE CONTEMPORARY CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPATIAL LANGUAGE.
THE BASIS OF THE SPACE IS GRAY VOLCANIC ROCK, LIGHT OAK, WARM WHITE PAINT AND DARK CARBONIZED WOOD. THESE MATERIALS
ARE COMBINED AND TRANSFORMED IN THE SPACE TO ACHIEVE A CONTEMPORARY BUT WARM SPACE TONE. THE SPACE ADOPTS A
NON-DECORATIVE DESIGN METHOD TO MAINTAIN A RIGOROUS AND RESTRAINED SENSE OF SCULPTURE, MAKING THE SPACE THE
BACKGROUND OF LIFE. IN TERMS OF SOFT DECORATION, WE PURCHASED FURNITURE BRANDS SUCH AS CHRISTIAN LIAIGRE,
VIABIZZUNO, AND CASSINA. THE SELECTION OF MODELS FIT THE LINE SENSE OF THE SPACE, AND THE SELECTION OF MATERIALS AND
COLORS ADDED A WARM AND SOFT ATMOSPHERE TO THE SPACE.
